Dakota is a sweetheart that is thriving here at Whispering River Rescue.  His estimated year of birth is 2018.

Dakota was a bit shy when he came to us but we are starting to work with him on halter training and lifting his hooves for the farrier.  He does get trimming done on a regular schedule and we do use an oral sedation to help with that process while we work with him.

Dakota will often come up for some love when you least expect it.  Of the bunch he is more on the shy side but once you start giving him loves and scratches he will stick around for as long as you offer them.  

In the summer when he sheds his winter coat he almost looks black but that winter coat he grows is a beautiful brown color...  We can't help it!!  We just think he is so handsome!!

He is a sweet boy and truly does deserve his forever home.

Dakota is looking for a home to call his own where he will be loved and treated as he truly deserves.  While we can't erase his past we can promise him (and will stand by our promise) that his future will be SO MUCH BETTER!!

We love our donkeys and will only allow the best for them.  Please note to adopt one of our available donkeys you must either have at least one other donkey on your property or be willing to adopt at least 2 from our rescue. 

All of our donkeys will be up to date on shots when adopted.

Our male donkeys will be gelded before adoption.
